Want to help out aspiring young cricketers in the DVCA? We are looking for expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons to umpire junior matches in the DVCA competition mostly at U16-1 level. If enough interest is shown this may also take in other levels and age groups. This opportunity would suit a recently retired but experienced player who may like to put something back into the game and earn a little pocket money in the process or even a current player who can spare the time. Full training and assistance will be provided.

| Learn the Rules Cricket Victoria is running Winter Class training nights for experienced, novice & intending Cricket Umpires, coaches, captains, players, team managers, club officials etc. The classes are directed at developing an understanding of The Laws of Cricket, as well as providing limited instruction on umpiring techniques.
The course, over 7 nights, will be conducted by Bob Stratford (Umpiring Manager) & Bob Parry (Umpiring Officer) for Cricket Victoria together with senior members of the Cricket Victoria Panel and first class umpires.
There are two possible venues - Holmesglen Conference Centre and RMIT Bundoora, Western Campus.

Try Indoor cricket... Action Indoor Sports in Bundoora caters for all ages (from Under 10 up to Under 16). Competition consists of sides of 6 players. Games are played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 5.00pm. The cost is $6 per game with no registration fee involved. Cricket Victoria (CV) is looking for the right person CV is looking for suitable persons to act as official scorers and to offer general assistance to Coaches and Team Managers for the North East Falcons State Championship squads at U14, U16 or U18 levels. Previous experience in scoring and a genuine interest in cricket statistics would be an advantage. Those interested must be available for the relevant phase of the championship. The State Championships occur during the middle weeks of January.

The DVCA Junior Executive would like to hear from suitably qualified persons to take on official roles in its annual representative junior matches at U12, U14 and U16 levels, such as Team Coaches, Team Managers and Scorers. These matches occur in two stages: November (Triseries games between DVCA, HDCA and JIKA at U12, U14 and U16 levels) and January (VMCU tournaments at U12, U14 and U16 levels).

Crickids - Harmony Day ...held each year Cricket Australia is inviting schools to register for CricKids Australia's Biggest Cricket Game on Harmony Day, 21st March 2007. An estimated 25,000 participants from over 250 Australian schools are expected to join the excitement which will see students and teachers playing informal fun cricket during lunchtime on Harmony Day.
CricKids Australia's Biggest Cricket Game aims to encourage children to celebrate cultural diversity and inclusion through Australia's favourite sport, Cricket, whilst reinforcing the ‘Living in Harmony Programme' message.
Harmony Day is part of the Australian Government's 'Living in Harmony Programme' and aims to promote mutual respect, Australian values, participation in the Australian way of life and a sense of belonging for everyone. It embraces common values of respect, fairness, participation, acceptance and a fair go for all, values which also hold true to the Spirit of Cricket.
