Diamond Valley Cricket Association

valentines day3  Hey guys
 Valentines Day approaches

valentines_5

Wonder what the D Grade 11th placed Camrea Taipans top order bats thought when they found Terry Keays coming in to bowl at them on the weekend.

It all looked really bad when they were 3-4 and then 5-33 but to their credit they recovered to make over 200 and ended up with first innings points!
crikey sign

... and while checking out D Grade I noticed the name Darren Mobilia popped up with 86 for 14th placed Yarrambat.

Thomastown who have been on a winning streak are desperate for points sitting just outside the four but hoping they dont have to face Mobilia next week

SENIORS: Barclay Shield: Round 8 (2-dayer; Saturday 6 & 13 February)
[10] Lower Eltham 258 v [11] Eltham

Minney will need some help to chase this total down
One of those season pivotal matches but in this case its about the race to avoid relegation. Lower Eltham has found some great recent form while Eltham scored a shock outright win over Epping (who play North Eltham lying at the bottom of the ladder; so keep your eye on that one too). Eltham rely so much on Minney that it makes them highly vulnerable though I'm not sure Lower Eltham has the firepower to worry the little master. Likewise Eltham's attack is not going to cause any sleepless nights for the Lower Eltham batting lineup.  Should be a great match but maybe Lower Eltham in a classic.

JUNIORS: U16(1) Teal: Round 8 (2-dayer; Saturday 6 & 13 February)
[1] Research v [3] Diamond Creek 9/153cc
Creek on the ropes again at 5/49 but fought their way to a total but I think 180 is needed at Research
Diamond Creek find themselves under the pump again this week having lost to Mill Park last round and losing top spot to boot. Research are another side stacked with rep players and have been strengthened with some great recruiting. A rare low score for Mark Phelan saw Diamond Creek really struggle last game and I can't see this one being much different unless he can keep Denier, Scales, Lee and Turner at bay and gets more support from Smith, Freeman and Ryder. Research have the form on the board to win.

 VT [1] MY v [4] RH
 [2] EL v [3] SM
 Montmorency
 Eltham Central

 VW [1] CT v [4] GB
 [2] NE v [3] SF
 Main Street
 Wattle Glen
 - Camrea have a galaxy of stars and should win easily
